Cory English To Join West End Cast Of ‘Back To The Future’

Great Scott! There’s big changes happening at the Adelphi Theatre as a new Doc Brown is coming to town! Cory English is set to take over iconic the role of ‘Doc’ Emmett Brown in Back to the Future: The Musical from November 2022. Tickets to Back to the Future are currently available to book both online and through the box office.

English will replace Roger Bart in the role of Doctor Emmett Brown for six weeks from November 23rd until January 3rd. 2023 when Roger Bart will return to the role from January 5th and continue until March 20th before moving over the pond and reprising the role in the Broadway production for summer 2023.

Cory English’s previous credits in the West End include roles in ‘Young Frankenstein’ and ‘Sleepless in Seattle’. He will join the talented cast that features  Ben Joyce as Marty McFly, Harry Jobson as Biff Tannen, Amber Davies as Lorraine Baines, Oliver Nicholas as George McFly,  Emma Lloyd as Linda McFly, Sophie Naglik as Jennifer Parker, Jordan Benjamin as Goldie Wilson, Gary Trainor as Strickland, and Will Haswell as alternate Marty McFly and Dave McFly.

Back to the Future is based on the hit sci-fi movie trilogy and follows Marty McFly as he is transported 30 years back in time from 1985 to 1955. In order to get back to his reality, Marty must ensure that his high school-aged parents meet and fall in love again to save himself and his family. The musical features songs from the Back to the Future movie, including “Johnny B. Goode,” and “The Power of Love.” Find out more about Back to the Future in London.

The musical is directed by John Rando and has a book by Bob Gale and music and lyrics by Alan Silvestri and Glen Ballard. The wider creative team features  sound design by Gareth Owen, scenic and costume design by Tim Hatley, and lighting design by Tim Luktin.
