Following its successful and extended 10-week season at the Kiln Theatre, Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York) will transfer into the West End at the Criterion Theatre on 4th April.
Kit Buchan and Jim Barne's new musical follows the fortunes of Dougal, an optimistic Brit who travels to New York to attend his father’s second wedding, and Robin, the sister of the bride, who meets him from the airport. While attempting to transport the wedding cake through New York, the pair begin to form an unlikely bond.
Olivier Award winner Sam Tutty, and Dujonna Gift reprise their roles as Dougal and Robin.
Two Strangers won the 2020 Best Composer/Lyricist Award at The Stage Debut Awards for The Season (an earlier version of the current musical.)
The creative team behind the production features Tim Jackson (director and choreographer), Jack Knowles (lighting designer), Soutra Gilmour (designer), Tony Gayle (sound designer), Lux Pyramid (music orchestrations) and Sean Green (music director). The producers of the production are Glass Half Full Productions, Tim Johanson Productions, and Jamie Wilson Productions.

The Criterion Theatre is an intimate West End theatre situated in Piccadilly Circus very heart of theatreland and has a capacity of 581 seats.
The auditorium generally offers good views throughout, however, some support pillars are dotted throughout the different sections, which can cause minor restrictions to the overall view of the stage in both the Stalls and Dress Circle.
Any restrictions are reflected in the ticket price and those seats affected are sold as restricted view however, it is highly recommended to study the seating plan in detail before purchase.
Premium seats in the theatre are located in both the front row of the Dress Circle in seats 12-21, and also in the centre of the Stalls section where the views of the stage are excellent.
