The Producers Announce Casting Ahead Of West End Opening
Full casting has been announced for the Menier Chocolate Factory production of The Producers, which will begin performances in London at the Garrick Theatre in the West End on 30 August.
The hilarious musical comedy from Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan follows the fortunes of down-on-his-luck Broadway producer Max Bialystock, who concocts an elaborate scheme with accountant Leo Bloom to stage the biggest flop in theatrical history by overselling stock interests in a new Broadway show - only to have their dastardly plan backfire in spectacular fashion.
Andy Nyman will star in the show as Max Bialystock, alongside Marc Antolin as Leo Bloom. The duo will be joined by Trevor Ashley as Roger DeBris, Harry Morrison as Franz Liebkind, Raj Ghatak as Carmen Ghia, Joanna Woodward as Ulla, Alex Lodge, Gabrielle Cocca, Michael Franks, Megan Armstrong, Pierce Rogan, Kelsie-Rae Marshall, Nolan Edwards, Olly Christopher, Sinead Kenny, Matt Gillett, Esme Kennedy, Josh Kiernan, Kate Parr, Jermaine Woods, Emma Robotham-Hunt, Hollie Jane Stephens, and Ryan Pidgen.
The West End revival of The Producers is directed by Patrick Marber, and features a creative team that includes choreographer Lorin Latarro, sound designer Paul Groothius, orchestrators by Mark Cumberland and Larry Blank, costume designer Paul Farnsworth, musical supervisor and dance arranger Gareth Valentine, lighting designer Tim Lutkin, hair, wigs, and makeup design by Betty Martini, set designer Scott Pask, and musical director Matthew Samer.
