In a slightly adapted version of the much loved family favourite, Toad Hall will be wonderfully transformed this Christmas at Wilton's Music Hall as The Wind in the Willows will become 'The Wind in the Wilton’s.' Previews of the show will begin on November 24th, with an official press night on November 30th, and performances running until December 31st.
The production has been adapted by Piers Torday for the intimate off-West End venue and will see Toad, Rat, Mole, and Badger attempt to tackle climate change issues, while all the time fighting against fellow creatures and getting themselves involved in dramatic adventures.
Commenting on the new adaptation, Torday said: “Wilton’s with its extraordinary history and unique atmospheric backdrop is the most perfect venue to conjure the charm, joy and beauty to bring one of my most favourite books ever, alive on stage.”
The Wind In The Wilton's will be directed by Elizabeth Freestone and stars Darrell Brockis as Toad, Rosie Wyatt as Rat, Paula James as Duck, Melody Brown as Badger, Tom Chapman as Weasel, Corey Montague-Sholay as Mole, and Chris Nayak as Otter.
The Wind in the Wilton’s will feature an original musical score from Chris Warner and Piers Torday, puppetry by Samuel Wyer, lighting design by Zoe Spurr, design by Tom Piper, and movement by Emma Brunton.
The Wind in the Wilton’s will be at Wilton’s Music Hall from November 24th, 2022.
