Patricia Hodge and Nigel Havers will return to the West End stage this summer in a hilarious new production of Noël Coward’s Private Lives to mark the 50th anniversary of the playwright's death. The production will showcase at the Ambassadors Theatre from August 31st to November 25th, 2023.

Nigel Havers has appeared in many huge shows on both stage and screen in a career that spans almost four decades including TV dramas such as  Coronation Street and Downton Abbey, as well as numerous prominent West End stage roles.

Patricia Hodge's stage credits include popular West End productions such as Travels With My Aunt, Calendar Girls, and Relative Values. Her recent roles on screen include Downton Abbey, A Very English Scandal, and Miranda.

Dugald Bruce-Lockhart will also feature in the production(The Last Temptation of Boris Johnson, Mamma Mia, The Deep Blue Sea), along with Natalie Walter (Jerusalem, Packs of Lies, Horrible Histories).

In Private Lives, Hodge and Havers play two ex-spouses honeymooning with their new partners in the South of France. As time goes on, their old flame begins to reignite, but unfortunately starts to burn out as quickly as it began.

Private Lives is directed by Christopher Luscombe in what will be the first production to feature in the newly updated theatre, following its multi-million-pound refurbishment to improve facilities and access.

Booking & Theatre Information For Private Lives

The Ambassadors Theatre is a small West End venue with a capacity of 410 seats on two levels. Premium seats in the theatre are located in the front two rows of the Circle, and the centre of the Stalls with great views between seats 6-12 in rows D-G.

Due to the intimacy of the venue, bargain hunters can get great value from the back row of the Circle which offers a great view of the stage. The overhang from the Circle does encroach on the rear seats in the Stalls, meaning the back rows do have a slightly restricted view which should reflect in the price of the ticket.

Patrons on a budget can find good value for Private Lives tickets in the last four rows of the Circle from H to L which are often discounted but still offer a great view of the stage and have good legroom.
