There are going to be no beauty school dropouts at the Dominion Theatre as Louise Redknapp will join the cast of Grease to play Teen Angel this summer. Grease will showcase at the Dominion Theatre from June 2nd to October 28th. Tickets to Grease are available to book online now.
Redknapp made her West End debut playing Violet Newstead in 9 to 5 back in 2019 and has previously starred in UK tours of both 'Fatal Attraction' and 'Cabaret'.
Commenting on her new role, Redknapp said, “As the biggest fan of Grease growing up I was thrilled to be asked to join the cast in the role of Teen Angel. Traditionally seen as a male role, I’m excited to be allowed to shake it up and play it from a new perspective under the direction of Nikolai Foster”.
Redknapp will appear as Teen Angel in the production from June 2nd, until July 29th, excluding Monday performances.
The summer season of Grease will see Dan Partridge and Olivia Moore reprising the roles of Danny and Sandy, and Jocasta Almgill also returns as Rizzo. Further casting is yet to be announced and will be revealed at a later date.
The plot of Grease follows high school sweethearts Danny Zuko and Sandy Dumbrowski as they try to navigate their way through senior year at Rydell High School and features timeless and much-loved songs such as "Sandy", "Greased Lightnin'', "Hopelessly Devoted to You," and "Summer Nights."
Grease will be directed by Nikolai Foster, and features sound design by Tom Marshall, choreography by Arlene Phillips, design by Colin Richmond, and lighting design by Ben Cracknell.
Booking & Theatre Info For Grease
Grease will open at the Dominion Theatre this summer. The venue is a large West End theatre with a capacity of 2083 seats and has two levels of seating. Both the Stalls and Circle sections are divided into separate blocks, which allows for good legroom and there are excellent views of the stage throughout.
The best seats are located in the centre section of the Stalls which offer the most immersive experience where you will feel completely absorbed into the production. Alternatively, the front of the Circle also offers a good panoramic view of the stage which is ideal for those who prefer to look down onto the stage from an elevated position
Theatregoers looking to secure value or who are on a budget searching for lastminute deals or cheap tickets to Grease can find bargains in the seats towards the rear of the Stalls or at the ends of rows in the Stalls which still offer great views of the stage at a cheaper price. Seats in the Circle can also give both good value and an excellent elevated view of the stage as sightlines of the stage are clear with no restrictions.
