Brace yourselves, as Idiots Assemble: Spitting Image The Musical will begin previews at the Phoenix Theatre on May 24th, with an official opening night on June 14th, and performances due to run until August 26th.
Based on the satirical 1980s TV series Idiots Assemble: Spitting Image The Musical now reappears in a musical version as Tom Cruise must form a "Magnificent Seven" of celebrity misfits to save the UK.
Co-creators Matt Forde and Al Murray lend their voices to several of the over 100 instantly recognisable figures from the world of politics and showbiz who are ruthlessly satirised during the production. The voice-over cast features Ronan Summers, Jason Forbes, Oliver Chris, Shri Patel, Lorna Laidlaw, Kathryn Drysdale, Luke Kempner, Jackie Lam, Jess Robinson, and Debra Stephenson.
Antony Antunes, Faye Weerasinghe, Tom Quinn, Rianna Ash, Rayo Patel, Kaidan Dawkins, Katie Bradley, Emily Essery, Bertie Harris, Pena Iiambo, Jackie Lam, Bright Ong, Helen Parke, Will Palmer, Richard Vorster also star.
Commenting on the new stage production of the show, director, and co-writer Sean Foley commented: "From throwing away three entire scripts, to the constant re-writes and creating the new puppets and characters which reflect the crazy world of UK culture and politics, we have been delighted that our audiences so far have laughed as hard and as long as they have… We have been updating and reflecting on the most recent events possible… and can exclusively reveal what ‘really’ happened behind the scenes in the week leading up to the King’s Coronation”.
Idiots Assemble: Spitting Image The Musical will feature choreography by Lizzi Gee, lighting design by Tim Mitchell, production design by Alice Power, costume design by Lotte Collett, and sound design by Richard Brooker.

Booking & Theatre Info For Idiots Assembel: The Spitting Image Musical
The Phoenix Theatre is a medium size West End theatre with a capacity of 1028 seats. The venue benefits from a deep auditorium that has a tall and narrow feel to it but there are thankfully few obstructions to the view of the stage and due to the raking of the seating the stage can be seen clearly from most seats.
The best seats in the theatre are located in the mid-centre of the Stalls, most specifically in rows C-K which offer clear, unobstructed views of the whole stage and have good legroom. Seats in the front rows of the Dress Circle also offer excellent panoramic views of the stage for those who prefer to view the stage from an elevated position.
For those on a budget or looking for value and cheap Idiots Assemble tickets, sitting towards the end of rows offers excellent, and often discounted views of the stage and as there is only a very slight curve around the stage there is still a good view of the stage even from the very end of a row. The Grand Circle also offers good value for money with completely clear views of the stage for a very reasonable price.
