The seasonal musical, Elf, is set to return to the Dominion Theatre in 2023, with previews to begin on November 15th, an official opening night scheduled for November 23rd, and performances running to January 6th, 2024.
The family favourite is based on the popular 2003 movie of the same name starring Will Ferrell and follows the fortunes of Buddy, who crawls inside Santa’s sack as a toddler and grows up in the company of elves at the North Pole. Buddy is raised by Father Christmas and therefore is unaware of how to interact normally with humans, but when he discovers where his real dad is, Buddy heads off to New York City for a memorable Christmas family reunion.
The delightful story of Elf was written by Bob Martin and Thomas Meehan, with music and lyrics provided by Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin. The musical is directed by Philip Wm. McKinley, with a wider creative team featuring choreography by Liam Steel, original set and costume design by Tim Goodchild, sound design by Gareth Owen, and lighting design by Patrick Woodroffe.
Casting for Elf is set to be revealed in due course at a later date. The 2022 production starred Simon Lipkin, Rebecca Lock, Georgina Castle, and Tom Chambers.
Elf will be at the Dominion Theatre.
