Casting Revealed For 'Clueless The Musical' Ahead Of West End Opening

Latest West End News

Clueless the Musical has revealed casting ahead of opening at the Trafalgar Theatre on February 15th, 2025.

Emma Flynn will make her West End debut as Cher Horowitz, with Keelan McAuley joining her as Josh. Both previously starred in the developmental run of the show at the Churchill Theatre in Bromley earlier this year.

Writer and director of the original Clueless movie, Amy Heckerling commented on the appointments saying: “I’m thrilled for Emma to bring her own take on Cher’s unforgettable charm and Keelan to make Josh his own.”

Flynn said: “I’m beyond excited to step into Cher’s iconic shoes and bring her to life on the West End stage. Alicia Silverstone created such a beloved character in the original Clueless film, and it’s an incredible honour to continue that legacy. I can’t wait for audiences to rediscover Cher’s wit and heart in a whole new way, and I’m thrilled to be part of such a timeless story.”

McAuley said: “I’m so excited to be embodying Paul Rudd’s character from the original movie, on the stage! I especially can’t wait for audiences to hear the music in Clueless. KT Tunstall has created a great new score inspired by the music styles of the ‘90s. Combined with Glenn Slater’s amazing lyrics, they’ve really brought a whole new energy to the story.”

Clueless the Musical is based on the 1995 Hollywood movie that takes inspiration from Jane Austen’s Emma and follows the popular high-school student Cher Horowitz, who is known on campus for her matchmaking talent. After new girl Tai joins their school, Cher rises to the challenge taking it upon herself to perform her biggest makeover yet.

The production features a book by the original film's writer/director Amy Heckerling, while the musical score comes from singer-songwriter KT Tunstall with lyrics by Grammy Award winner and Tony Award nominee Glenn Slater. Rachel Kavanaugh directs the production, with choreography by Olivier Award winner Kelly Devine.

The Trafalgar Theatre (formally Trafalgar Studios) is a small West End theatre located on Whitehall and has a capacity of 616 seats.

The best seats in the theatre are situated in rows D to H in the centre section of the Stalls which offer excellent, central, intimate, and completely unobstructed views of the stage. The rows A to C at the front of the Dress Circle are also excellent, and offer elevated views of the action down below for people who prefer to look down on the stage.

Value for money can be found in the middle rows of the Dress Circle which can tend to be slightly cheaper than the premium seats, but thanks to a decent rake have clear views of the stage. Either the side seating in the Stalls or further back from premium will also save money without compromising on the overall experience and will suit those on a budget looking for cheap tickets to Clueless or last-minute shows in London.
