Michael Benz and Giles Terera Join Cast Of 'Power Of Sail'

Latest West End News

Michael Benz and Olivier Award-winner Giles Terera will lead the cast in the London premiere of Paul Grellong's Power of Sail which will open at the Menier Chocolate Factory on March 28th.

Terera won the Olivier Award for 'Best Actor in a Musical' for his portrayal of Aaron Burr in Hamilton, and will play Baxter, while Benz is cast as Lucas.

The rest of the cast features Tanya Franks as Amy, Julian Ovenden as Charles Nichols, Katie Bernstein as Maggie, Paul Rider as Frank, and Georgia Landers as Quinn.

The powerful and poignant play, directed by Dominic Dromgool, focuses on Harvard professor Charles Nichols, who controversially invites a white nationalist to his yearly symposium as an experiment. His colleagues show concern about how this could affect both his and the university’s reputation, but Charles refuses to be swayed. Could there be another agenda in play?

Booking & Theatre Information For The Menier Chocolate Factory

The Menier Chocolate Factory is a small and intimate off West End venue located about a five minute walk from London Bridge Station in Southwark Street that has one level of seating with a capacity of 180 seats.

The bench seating within the venue can feel a little cramped when the auditorium is full to capacity but does however benefit from a good raking which offers a very good view of the stage. The ‘stage’ itself is on floor level and relatively small which offers an intimate and immersive theatrical experience. There is very little difference in the pricing of seats in the venue due to it being on a single level and its small size, however the centre section seats are usually priced slightly dearer.

The Menier Chocolate Factory also has several rehearsal rooms and a cosy restaurant and welcoming bar which is surrounded with posters from previous shows and surprisingly affordable, making it an ideal venue for a date night.
