Hamilton Tickets - Victoria Palace Theatre

The record-breaking run goes on in the West End at the Victoria Palace Theatre, as the multi award-winning production of HAMILTON continues to go from strength to strength.

HAMILTON charts the story of Alexander Hamilton, an immigrant from the West Indies and one of America’s Founding Fathers who rose to become George Washington’s right-hand man during the American Revolutionary War and helped forge the foundations of what was to become the U.S.A that we know today. The upbeat and contemporary musical score fuses the genres of hip-hop, rap, jazz, blues, R&B, and Broadway – to tell the story of America then, by America now.

Lin-Manuel Miranda's phenomenal and multi award winning hit musical Hamilton first opened at the venue to incredible critical acclaim in 2017 following on from a pretty much unprecedented sold out run on Broadway, this is a show that takes musical theatre to a whole new level with its fusion of Latin American, R&B and Hip Hop music styles creating what has now become an epic historical musical production.

Is It Easy To Find Tickets To Hamilton?

When it first opened and for the next two and a half years Hamilton tickets were in such demand that the producers did not even need to use official ticket agents to sell the show and fill the theatre every night as they could happily do it all themselves! Although things have calmed down a little, this is still pretty much the hottest show in the world right now and the demand for tickets in all price ranges and categories is unprecedented but they are now being sold through normal channels both online and through retail outlets in and around Leicester Square.

How Can I Book Cheap Tickets To Hamilton?

Although demand is still huge to see this incredible musical, there are avenues available to keep the price reasonable and if you are flexible with dates then it is possible to keep the price down. To book cheap Hamilton tickets there is an official lottery that offers successful applicants tickets from as little as £10! If you would rather take no chances and be secure in your purchase then the seats in the upper circle can be very reasonably priced and with very few restrictions to the view can be considered good value despite their second floor location.

When Is The Best Time To Book Tickets To Hamilton?

Following the decision to offer ticket agents the opportunity to sell Hamilton tickets online and through retail outlets in 2019 we have noticed that like most West End productions, seasonal fluctuations can be found in the ticket price. When looking for value, it is advisable to explore midweek performances outside peak times such as school holidays, with November, January and February being of particular interest along with the weeks that follow on from half term holidays which are traditionally a quiet time in the West End.

Where Is The Best Location In The Theatre To Book Hamilton Tickets?

This will depend on several different factors. If you are looking to book the best tickets to Hamilton then the centre sections in both the stalls and dress circle will be ideal although very pricy! The upper circle at the Victoria Palace Theatre offers good value to those on a budget and with several different price ranges on offer there are savings to be found if you book in advance. It is always advisable to check the seating plan before you book, no matter which category of seat you are interested in as their are multiple price options in all sections of the theatre and very often if you look closely you will find that seats either next to each other or behind eachother can have a huge difference in the price tag despite having more or less exactly the same view of the stage.

Who Was Alexander Hamilton?

Alexander Hamilton was one of the founding fathers of the United States of America and was known as George Washington's right hand man during the American Revolutionary War. Following the American Colonies independence from the British Empire he became the very first Secretary of the United States Treasury.

Is The Story Of Hamilton Historically Correct?

For the most part yes, however some theatrical and creative license has been used. The creator of the show, Lin-Manuel Miranda actually employed Ron Chernow, author of of Alexander Hamilton's biography to consult on the project to ensure that they didn't stray too far from the facts.

If All Of America's Founding Fathers Were White, Why Are The Main Characters In The Show People Of Colour

Lin-Manuel Miranda's idea for the show was to tell a tale of America 'then' with a cast formed by America 'now' eliminating distance between the two. The story is designed to make a statement without actually making a statement by showing the way the country looks today by using the best personnel to embody all parts in the show.

Has Hamilton Won Any Awards?

By the shed load! In 2016 Hamilton was nominated for no fewer than 16 Tony Awards winning 11 of them and followed on from that success with a Grammy for Best Musical Theater Album and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama the same year. Awards have continued to flow in for the show from all over the world as new productions have opened including 7 Olivier Awards in the UK.

Why Is Hamilton So Popular?

Lin-Manuel Miranda seems to have found a perfect blend by fusing the past with the present day, and the use of Hip Hop, Jazz, R&B and Rap music to portray events that happened 250 years ago has captured the imagination of theatre goers all over the world as the messages that are told in the show still hold enormous significance. Ultimately, Hamilton is based on the 'American Dream', immigration and division within society which are all things that very much resonate with audiences of today.

Is There A Dress Code To Watch Hamilton?

No. Like most shows in the West End patrons are simply advised to dress appropriately for their own comfort.

Are There Any Age Restrictions For Booking Tickets To Hamilton?

The musical does feature some adult themes so the recommended age to watch Hamilton is 10 years and all patrons under the age of 16 years must be accompanied by an adult. Please be aware that children aged under 4 years will not be admitted into the theatre.

The Victoria Palace Theatre is a large West End theatre that has a capacity of 1547 seats over three levels. The theatre is built in a traditional style with a large auditorium that somewhat overwhelms the relatively small stage. Each level of seating is well-raked and curves around the balconies, offering different degrees of views of the stage. Ticket prices vary accordingly so studying the seating plan prior to booking is recommended.

Premium seats in the theatre are situated in the centre of the Stalls and offer the best views of the stage and the front of the Dress Circle also provide a decent vantage point to watch the action from an elevated position.

For patrons searching for bargains and lastminute theatre tickets, the steep rake of the stage results in some seats which are marked as 'restricted view' in the Stalls offering great value for money as the restrictions can be minimal and sitting in these seats should not have any negative impact on your enjoyment of the production as a whole.
