Full Cast Revealed For 'Standing At The Sky's Edge' Ahead Of West End Opening

Full casting has now been revealed ahead of the forthcoming opening of Chris Bush’s musical Standing at the Sky’s Edge at the Gillian Lynne Theatre on 8th February.

Joining the previously announced cast members are Jonathon Bentley (From Here to Eternity, Mamma Mia!) as Gary, Jonathan Andre (Macbeth, The Lion King) as Max, Lillie-Pearl Wildman (Cabaret, Sunset Boulevard) as Justine, and Mya Fox-Scott who makes her professional debut as Jenny.

Karen Wilkinson, Monique Ashe-Palmer, Jerome Lincoln, Adam Colbeck-Dunn, Jamie Doncaster, Viquichele Cross, Caroline Fitzgerald, and Sean McLevy will also join the cast, while Rachael Louise Miller (Les Misérables, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat), David McKechnie (Flowers for Mrs Harris, Stepping Out), Nicola Sloane (Backstairs Billy, London Road), and Adam Price (Privates on Parade, Hairspray) will reprise their roles.

Making up the remainder of the company will be Chioma Nduka, Alayna Anderson, Renee Hart, Luca Foster-Lejeune, Eric Madgwick, and Sam Stocks.

The new musical features music by Sheffield-born singer-songwriter Richard Hawley, a book by Chris Bush, and Robert Hastie directs the production. The wider creative team behind the show includes set and costume designer Ben Stones, lighting designer Mark Henderson, choreographer Lynne Page, hair and make-up designer Cynthia De La Rosa, orchestra and arranger Tom Deering, and sound designer Bobby Aitken.

Set over six decades at the Park Hill estate in Sheffield, the musical cleverly weaves the lives of three families living in the same flat across different decades together. Standing at the Sky’s Edge was awarded Best New Musical and Best Original Score or New Orchestrations at the 2023 Olivier Awards.

The Gillian Lynne Theatre is a medium size West End theatre which has two levels of seating and a capacity of 1299 seats.

The venue has a thrust stage that juts into the auditorium and is surrounded by seats in a square horseshoe shape with seats at the sides of rows I-S face the stage from the side.

Premium seats in the venue are located in the mid-front section of the Stalls section with the most central seats offering the best views of the stage. Seating in the theatre is well-raked to ensure a good view from most angles. For the most central views of the stage it is recommended to sit in seats 15-37.

Bargain hunters searching for last minute theatre tickets should look at seats in either the Circle or in seats down the sides of the thrust stage to book cheap tickets to Standing At The Sky's Edge however these do offer very angled views of the stage although productions that  generally showcase at the Gillian Lynne Theatre take this into account and play to all sides of the audience, so you should not feel isolated or miss any of the action by sitting in these seats.
