Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss's second West End venture Why Am I So Single? will close early, with the production organisers citing the many challenges of making a new stage musical commercially sustainable in the current economic climate. The production was originally scheduled to run until 13th February 2025, but will now close its doors at the Garrick Theatre on 19th January.
The cast of Why Am I So Single? includes Leesa Tulley, Jo Foster, and Noah Thomas, and follows the fortunes of two, forever-single best friends during an evening as they attempt to figure out why they remain single, and features an original musical score by Marlow and Moss made up of songs including "Just in Case", "8 Dates", and the title "Why Am I So Single?"
Commenting on the early closure of the show, producers said, "We are extremely proud of the production and thank all the cast, musicians, creatives, and backstage team who have worked together to bring something daring and original to the West End. We are not discounting the possibility of bringing the show back into London in the future and, with discussions about potential productions in the US and around the world already underway, we are confident that it is just the beginning for this extraordinary show."
Marlow and Moss said, "We are so grateful to our truly remarkable cast who have brought this work to life at every performance with such passion, talent, and commitment. We are so grateful to our wonderful company and creatives who have put all their humour and heart into our show. We are so grateful to everyone who has worked hard behind the scenes to bring Why Am I So Single? to the West End. We are so very grateful to the producers for taking such a risk on an original, ambitious musical like this and making our wildest dreams come true. And finally, we are SO grateful to everyone who has seen the show so far, and we hope more of you will be able to come and see it in the coming months!
"We are, of course, pretty sad that it’s coming to an end earlier than we’d hoped but we are very proud of the show and are super excited to see what the potential future journey looks like. We cannot WAIT for you all to listen to more of the music, which we’re working away at right now, and, not to boast, but we think it’s going to BEE pretty great ;)."

The Garrick Theatre is a medium size West End theatre which has a capacity of 735 seats. Studying the seating plan in detail before purchase is highly recommended as there are numerous support pillars and circle overhangs that restrict the view from many seats. Patrons will also often hear the rattle of the underground trains during productions as tube lines run directly below the theatre.
The best views in the theatre are in the Stalls and Dress Circle section and sitting between Row D and J in the Stalls offers an excellent and unrestricted view. The Dress Circle also offers clear and detailed views of the stage and is a brilliant vantage point although this does tend to be reflected in the ticket price.
The best budget seats for those looking to secure cheap lastminute tickets to Why Am I So Single? can be found towards the rear of the Stalls, where seats are regularly discounted due to the many support pillars and overhang from the Dress Circle. Value can also be found in the clear-view seats in the Upper Circle for a cheap alternative.
