Waterloo East Theatre

The Waterloo East Theatre was founded and created by multi-award-winning Theatre Producer and former musical theatre actor Gerald Armin and opened in September 2010.

After discovering an unused railway arch in 2009, Armin decided that the space would make a great 100-seat theatre and be a positive addition to the already thriving cultural quarter in Waterloo that already included the National Theatres, Old Vic, and Young Vic.

Over 150 productions have been presented at the venue since the opening of the theatre, which has entertained over 125,000 ticket holders to date with many productions receiving critical acclaim and Off West End nominations and award wins.

The Waterloo East Theatre is proud to champion new writing and offers new and undiscovered talent a platform both off and on the stage, and aspires to give audiences in London the opportunity to discover new shows that they may never otherwise have had the chance to see by mounting European premiers and revivals.

The Waterloo East Theatre is a small off-West End fringe theatre located beneath Waterloo Station which opened in September 2010. The theatre was founded by award-winning theatre producer Gerald Armin who discovered the unused railway arch in 2009 and saw the potential for a great addition to the already thriving cultural quarter already in Waterloo alongside the National Theatre, Old Vic, and Young Vic theatres.

The venue has a capacity of around 100 seats (depending on the production and stage layout) and features well-raked seating with good views of the stage throughout and an aisle on the right-hand side providing access to seats. The theatre benefits from good transport links and a well-stocked fully licensed bar and is an ideal venue for staging smaller productions. It is worth noting that seating in the theatre is usually unreserved, so it is best to get there early if you want to choose where you sit.
