This Frank Matcham designed theatre has undergone a major restoration to bring it into the 21st Century with new state-of-the-art facilities. Originally built in 1901, the Hackney Empire is an atmospheric Grade II listed building and has spent the last 100 years presenting all incarnations of the arts, from the BBC, Charlie Chaplin, and Gilbert & Sullivan to Russell Brand, Arcade Fire, and Hercule Poirot not to mention London’s No.1 festive pantomime.
The versatile, lofty, gilded, and gorgeously atmospheric main space can accommodate up to 1635 standing for live gigs with stunning acoustics. There is also a recently completed, smaller, fully featured rehearsal and event space holding up to 120.
Cafés and break-out spaces are available both onsite and nearby including a versatile large meeting space or boardroom within the building. The Hackney Empire also boasts convenient transport links.
‘The most beautiful theatre in London.’
