Barbican

After the original site was destroyed by the bombs in the blitz in World War Two, Queen Elizabeth II officially opened the newly renovated Barbican Centre on 3rd March 1982. The Barbican Centre contains two theatres, a concert hall, three cinemas, conversatory, two art galleries, and a public lending library.

In 2003, the Barbican was voted "London's ugliest building" however, its stand-out and distinctive architectural design makes it an integral part of the London skyline. The largest venue within the Barbican Centre is the Barbican Hall, which seats 1,943 people, followed by the Barbican Theatre which has seating for a capacity of 1,156.
