Tuppence Middleton is to join the cast of Eline Arbo’s The Years at the Harold Pinter Theatre in the West End, taking over from Romola Garai whose last scheduled performance in the production will be 8th March.
Middleton joins a cast that already features Deborah Findlay, Anjli Mohindra, Gina McKee, and Harmony Rose-Bremner, as they chart the life of one woman from the 1940s up to 2006.
Tuppence Middleton commented, “It is such a special opportunity to join this incredible company and to tell the story of The Years. The book is very close to my heart and Eline’s sensitive and bold adaptation brings Annie’s universal journey through life to live audiences in the most visceral and moving way. To be a part of this production exploring growth, love, grief, sexuality, history, politics, and time - is a dream come true for any actor.”
The play is adapted from Annie Ernaux's memoir and features a talented creative team that includes Set Designer Juul Dekker, Music Supervisor and Sound Designer Thijs van Vuure, Lighting Designer Varja Klosse, and Costume Designer Rebekka Wörmann.
The production opened in London in 2024 at the Almeida Theatre following a season at the Internationaal Theater in Amsterdam.
