Titanique Announces New London Casting
New personnel have been announced to take over in The West End company of the popular musical Titanique including a new performer playing the role of Céline Dion.
Astrid Harris - who has already starred in the French production of the musical - will take over as Céline Dion from Lauren Drew from 15 July. Drew was nominated for an Olivier Award, and originated the role in London.
After previously appearing in the Paris production, Jenny O’Leary will take over as maternity cover for Charlotte Wakefield and will begin performances in the role of Molly Brown at the Criterion Theatre on Tuesday 22 July.
The remainder of the company is made up of Luke Bayer as Jack, Darren Bennett as Luigi/Victor Garber, Carl Mullaney as Ruth, Richard Carson as Cal, Hiba Elchikhe as Rose, Rodney Vubya, Madison Swan, and Adrianne Langley, with on-stage background vocals, offstage understudies Freddie King and Caitlin Tipping, and Tosh Wanogho-Maud as The Iceberg.
James Cameron's epic 1997 Hollywood movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet has been given a major tweak and is now adapted for the stage into a comedy-musical. Titanique transports the audience back to that fateful night aboard the doomed ship Titanic, and asks the question — what really happened that night?
