Timothy Hutton is to star in the world premiere of The Sex Party in London later this autumn. The Academy Award winning actor will join previews of the new production at the Menier Chocolate Factory when they begin on November 4th, ahead of an official opening night on November 15th, and performances due to run until January 7th, 2023.
The relationship drama is both written and directed by Terry Johnson and follows four couples as they get together for a cheese and wine evening. As the wine and conversations begin to flow, the couples grow curious of one another and the evening begins to take some very unexpected twists and turns.
Timothy Hutton will make his debut on the London stage in The Sex Party. The actor is best known for his role as 'Conrad Jarrett' in the 1980 movie Ordinary People, and becoming the youngest ever recipient of the Academy Award for 'Best Supporting Actor' at just 20 years old.
The Sex Party will feature a talented cast that includes Kelly Price, Amanda Donohoe, Will Barton, Jason Merrells, Lisa Dwan, John Hopkins, Pooya Mohseni, and Molly Osborne.
The creative team behind the play consists of sound design by John Leonard, design by Tim Shortall, and lighting design by Ben Ormerod.
Other forthcoming shows that will showcase at at the Menier Chocolate Factory include the European premiere of the Pulitzer-winning play 'Marjorie Prime' and Alex Edelman’s play, 'Just For Us'.
The Sex Party will begin previews at the Menier Chocolate Factory on November 4th. The Menier Chocolate Factory is a small and intimate Off West End venue that has one level of seating enabling audiences to connect with the action on stage just a few yards away. Due to the small size and layout of the theatre pretty much all of the seats have clear views of the stage allowing patrons to enjoy all of the action in an up close and personal setting.
