The record-breaking run of Andrew Lloyd-Webber's musical The Phantom of the Opera in the West End has been extended. The stage show, which opened on October 9th, 1986 will continue to showcase with performances now set to continue at His Majesty's Theatre until at least 28th March, 2026.
Andrew Lloyd Webber’s haunting musical features a classic catalogue of songs including "Music of the Night", "Masquerade", "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again", "All I Ask of You", and "The Phantom of the Opera".
Dean Chisnall stars as The Phantom in the production alongside Lily Kerhoas as Christine Daaé, Joanna Ampil as Carlotta Giudicelli, Joe Griffiths-Brown as Raoul, Martin Ball as Monsieur Firmin, David Kristopher-Brown as Ubaldo Piangi, Millie Lyon as Meg Giry, Adam Linstead as Monsieur André, and Helen Hobson as Madame Giry. For some performances, Eve Shanu-Wilson will perform the role of Christine Daaé.
The talented cast is completed by Lily Allen-Dodd, Anya Alindada, Embla Bishop, George Arvidson, Leonard Cook, Michael Colbourne, Colleen Rose Curran, David Burilin, Fergus Dale, Connor Ewing, James Gant, Serina Faull, Florence Fowler, Nicholas Hepher, Hywel Dowsell, Emily George, Melanie Gowie, Mandy Kwan, Will Hawksworth, Eilish Harmon-Beglan, Janet Mooney, Molly Hall, Samuel Haughton, Jess Michelmore, Tim Morgan, Johnny Randall, Victoria Ward, Zoë Soleil Vallée, and Jasmine Wallis.
The creative team behind the scenes includes music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, lyrics by Charles Hart, and additional lyrics by Richard Stilgoe. The book is by Richard Stilgoe and Andrew Lloyd Webber, with orchestrations being provided by David Cullen and Andrew Lloyd Webber. The production design is by Maria Björnson, musical supervision is by Simon Lee. The set design is adapted by Matt Kinley, lighting is by Andrew Bridge, associate costume design is by Jill Parker, and sound is by Mick Potter. The choreography and staging for the musical is by Gillian Lynne and have been recreated and adapted by Chrissie Cartwright. Harold Prince originally directed the musical. The current production is directed by Seth Sklar-Heyn.
