The much-anticipated revival of the musical The King And I will open in the West End at the Dominion Theatre early in 2024, with performances set to run from January 20th until March 2nd, 2024.
The plot of The King and I follows the fortunes of British schoolteacher, Anna Leonowens, who is hired by the King of Siam both to educate and modernise his country. After spending time together, Anna and the King begin to find themselves drawn to each other, despite struggling to communicate.
The classic Rodgers and Hammerstein musical includes a host of memorable songs such as “Shall We Dance?” and “Whistle a Happy Tune.”
Bartlett Sher directed The King and I in 2015, which starred Kelli O’Hara and Ken Watanabe who featured in the West End production in 2018.
The King and I will star Helen George (Call The Midwife) who will take on the role of Anna Leonowens and Darren Lee will play the King of Siam, with a talented cast of over 50 actors.

The Dominion Theatre is a large venue with a capacity of 2083 seats and has two levels of seating. Both the Stalls and Circle sections of the venue are divided into separate blocks, which allows for good legroom and there are excellent views of the stage throughout.
