'The Hills Of California' Reveals Full Cast Ahead Of West End Opening

Latest West End News

The cast has been revealed for Jez Butterworth's much-anticipated new play The Hills of California which will play a limited season at the Harold Pinter Theatre from January 27th to June 15th, 2024.

The cast will be led by Laura Donnelly, Leanne Best, Ophelia Lovibond, and Helena Wilson as the Webb family with the rest of the cast being completed by Nicola Turner, Bryan Dick, Richard Lumsden, Lara McDonnell, Shaun Dooley, Corey Johnson, Nancy Allsop, Natasha Magigi, Sophia Ally, Alfie Jackson, and Lucy Moran.

Following their previous success with the multi-award-winning play The Ferryman, Jez Butterworth and Sam Mendes now return to the West End with The Hills Of California. The wider creative team behind the production includes lighting designer Rob Howell, musical supervisor Ellen Kane, sound designer Natasha Chivers, and choreographer Nick Powell.

The play is set during the scorching hot summer of 1976, the driest period in 200 years, and the sun-soaked beaches of Blackpool are drawing in large crowds. Amidst the sweltering heat, however, a contrasting story is unfolding in the backstreets, when the Webb Sisters visit their dying mother's run-down guest house.

Booking & Theatre Info For The Hills Of California

The Harold Pinter Theatre is a medium size West End theatre which has a capacity of 799 seats and four levels of seating.

The venue has several different price bands and a variety of views are available in the auditorium due to restrictions from support pillars that are dotted throughout the seating area so studying the seating plan in detail before purchase is recommended. The best seats in the theatre are in the centre of the Stalls section, however, the overhang from the Dress Circle can affect the view towards the rear of this section which should be noted. Great views of the stage are also available from the second row of the Dress Circle for those who prefer to view the stage looking down from an elevated position.

There is value to be found within the theatre from studying the cut-off points of the many different price bands with many seats often being discounted due to the slightly restricted views. These seats can often be worth the risk for patrons looking for cheap tickets to The Hills Of California, however, the Balcony can also be a good bet but has a distant, but clear, view and is ideal for patrons looking for discounts or lastminute shows in London.
