Following its world premiere earlier this year, The Great British Bake Off Musical is now coming to the West End next year and will showcase at the Noel Coward Theatre from February 25th until May 13th. The Great British Bake Off Musical is based on the popular TV cooking competition programme 'The Great British Bake Off' and features colourful characters including vegans, policemen, fashionistas, carers and sixth form students as they all come together with a shared passion for baking.
Television Bake Off judge, Prue Leith commented on the West End transfer saying, "I am thrilled to bits that The Great British Bake Off Musical is going to the West End. It is an uplifting, funny, heartfelt story, which will have you singing and dancing out of the theatre with a huge smile. A theatrical sweet treat. Just what we need right now".
The cast of The Great British Bake Off Musical features John Owen-Jones who will play judge Phil Hollinghurst, (based on TV Bake Off judge, Paul Hollywood). The cast also includes Scott Paige, Aharon Rayner, Damian Humbley, Charlotte Wakefield, Claire Moore, Jay Saighal, and Michael Cahill. Further casting will be revealed at a later date.
The Bake Off musical features an original music, book, and lyrics from Pippa Cleary and Jake Brunger. Rachel Kavanaugh will direct the production which will also feature sound design by Ben Harrison, choreography by Georgina Lamb, set, costume and cake designs by Alice Power, and lighting design by Ben Cracknell.
Performances of The Great British Bake Off Musical will begin at the Noel Coward Theatre from February 25th, 2023. Premium seats at the venue can be found in both the centre stalls section and at the front of the Royal Circle offering absolute clear and direct views of the stage. There are four levels to the theatre, Stalls, Royal Circle, Grand Circle and Balcony with value to be found in the clear view sections in the wings of the first two levels and the front of the Grand Circle.
