What's Wrong With Angry? Tickets - London
Before Sex Education, Heartstopper, and Love, Simon came the award-winning play from Patrick Wilde, What’s Wrong With Angry?
Featuring a Hi-NRG soundtrack, What’s Wrong With Angry? candidly delves into the challenges faced by John Westhead and Steven Carter - two schoolboys - as they both grapple with their sexuality under the long shadow of Section 28 - Margaret Thatcher’s 1988 Local Government Act, forbidding the “promotion of homosexuality in schools” that kickstarted 15 years of what has been described as "state-sponsored homophobia".
Following previous runs in the West End, at King’s Head Theatre, and around the world, and now adapted by its author for the multi-award-winning Paramount movie, Get Real, What’s Wrong With Angry? now returns to King’s Head Theatre to celebrate Pride Month 2026.
Lauren Reed Productions proudly presents a revival of Wilde’s groundbreaking debut play, which has now been reimagined for a contemporary audience under the direction of Scott Le Crass, to provide a timely reminder that hard-won freedoms can be revoked.
