The Criterion Theatre is an intimate West End theatre situated in Piccadilly Circus, the heart of theatreland, and has a capacity of 581 seats.

There are good views throughout the auditorium, although support pillars can cause minor restrictions on the view of the stage in both the Stalls and Dress Circle.

There are three tiers of seating in the Criterion Theatre - the stalls on the ground floor, the dress circle one floor up, and the upper circle on the second floor.  Many seats have restrictions due to support pillars on the first two levels.  Seats in the upper circle, however, do mostly have a clear view of the stage.  Booking tickets in this section provides value for last-minute bargain hunters, especially for weekend performances when tickets in other sections sell at full price.

There are issues towards the rear of the stalls from the overhang from the dress circle affecting the view from row M onwards. There are also obstructions from pillars to the back of the stalls. There are some specifically designated ‘restricted view’ seats in row C of the dress circle due to pillars supporting the upper circle. All seats that feature restrictions should be priced accordingly. The severity of restrictions will depend on the production, so it is recommended that patrons study the seating plan thoroughly before booking tickets marked as 'restricted view', and remember that 'cheap' is not always a 'bargain!'
