With a brand-new production for 2024, the magical Christmas tradition for all the family continues this festive season as The Nutcracker returns at the London Coliseum.
Join Clara, and embark on a journey full of wonder and colour in a fantastical adventure where anything is possible as the English National Ballet once again brings Nutcracker to life with a cast of over 100 musicians and dancers.
Edwardian London. Christmas Eve. Clara is shopping with her mother at Drosselmeyer’s Sweets & Delights Emporium, where she finds an enchanted Nutcracker doll. They take home nougat, liquorice all-sorts, marzipan, and of course plenty of sugarplums, to serve to their party guests. As music and laughter filter through the house, Clara has a magical sugar plum vision, sparking an amazing adventure in which she is forced to bravely defend her home from the Rat King and discovers a dazzling realm of ice and its Queen. Follow Clara as she travels to the Land of Sweets & Delights where a grand celebration in her honour has been arranged by the Suger Plum Fairy.
Expertly choreographed by Aaron S. Watkin and Olivier Award-winner Arielle Smith, this brand-new interpretation of the classic festive ballet is a beautiful combination of spectacular sets, exquisite dancing, and lavish costumes designed by Dick Bird with the English National Ballet Philharmonic performing Tchaikovsky’s iconic score live on stage.
English National Ballet’s new production of Nutcracker is an unforgettable treat for audiences of any age, from the orchestra warming up to the final applause.
