Rose Theatre Kingston presents Laura Lomas' The House Party in a Headlong and Chichester Festival Theatre co-production in association with Frantic Assembly and directed by Holly Race Roughan.
Julie is throwing a party to celebrate her 18th birthday - and she's having it in her father’s extravagant townhouse. She has just been dumped by her boyfriend, and Christine, her long-suffering best friend, is trying to pick up the pieces. But as the guests arrive and pile into the booze - in the kitchen downstairs, Christine and her boyfriend Jon – the son of Julie's cleaner – dare to dream of the future as they clear up.
But as the shots go down and the volume goes up, Julie begins to concoct a twisted cocktail of desire, entitlement, and destruction.
Headlong’s Artistic Director, Holly Race Roughan directs The House Party, delving into themes of power, class, and privilege with raw intensity.
