The Fifth Step Tickets - Soho Place

The Fifth Step Tickets - London

After years in the Alcoholics Anonymous 12-step programme, James agrees to become the sponsor of newcomer Luka.

Step 1: honesty.
Step 2: faith.
Step 3: surrender.
Step 4: self-examination.

On the long and tortuous journey to sobriety, the pair bond over trade stories, and black coffee, slowly building up a fragile friendship from their shared experiences.

Through the programme, their conversations must turn to confessionals on the cusp of Step 5, with their progress hinging on Luka revealing certain dark secrets that could lead him back to alcohol. But it becomes clear that James too has dangerous truths in his past. And these truths directly threaten the trust on which both their recoveries depend.

Following its acclaimed sold-out Edinburgh season, Olivier Award-winner Jack Lowden reprises his role as Luka joined by Emmy, BAFTA, and SAG Award winner Martin Freeman as James.

The Fifth Step is intimately directed in-the-round @sohoplace by Finn den Hertog and is a subversively funny, provocative, and entertaining new play from David Ireland.

The Fifth Step plays at Soho Place in London. The small purpose-built new London theatre is situated at the top of Charing Cross Road, and has a capacity of 602.

The theatre has three levels of seating- Stalls, First Balcony, and Second Balcony – and benefits from an adaptable layout to suit the production. These adaptations include in-the-round seating covering all four sides of the stage and also thrust, with seating on three of the sides. Soho Place is a contemporary, intimate, and innovative venue that has excellent views of the stage throughout.

Premium seats are in the front row of the First Balcony, providing an excellent vantage point from an elevated position. The central rows in the Stalls sit a comfortable distance from the stage and offer a perfect view of the action.

Value can be found in the seats in the Second Balcony, which despite being the furthest away from the stage have no obstructions or restrictions and offer clear views of the stage. Tickets to The Fifth Step in the front row of the Stalls can also be slightly cheaper due to the close proximity to the stage.

This production is suitable for patrons aged 16+
