The Constituent Tickets - Old Vic

‘I am not your punch bag! I am a Member of Parliament!’

An enthalpic MP with a compassionate instinct. An ex-serviceman whose life is in free fall, and a parliamentary protection officer who is having none of it.

The Constituent is a volatile new play at The Old Vic starring BAFTA Award winner Anna Maxwell Martin as a hard-working backbencher and member of the opposition, whose ideals of public office are severely tested by the requests of a man in crisis, played by BAFTA, Tony, and Emmy Award winner James Corden.

Directed by Tony and Olivier Award winner Matthew Warchus and written by Olivier Award winner Joe Penhall, The Constituent deconstructs modern-day politics, panic alarms and the ongoing conflict between personal safety and public service.

The Old Vic Theatre is a medium size venue located on The Cut close to Waterloo Station which has three levels of seating and a capacity of 1364 seats.

The auditorium is built in a semi-circle and offers a variety of views of the stage which can be extended to accommodate the production. Different price bands are available within the venue depending on where you choose to sit.

Premium seats and the best overall views of the stage with no restrictions are found in the centre of rows E-L, of the Stalls section and also in rows A-D of the Dress Circle which offers a great vantage point for those who prefer an elevated and panoramic view of the stage.

Good value for tickets to The Constituent can be found from sitting in the back two “restricted view” rows of the Stalls which provide a remarkably clear view of the stage without any obstructions. The only negative with these seats is that the stage is a little far away, but they benefit from having plenty of legroom! Alternatively, the Lilian Baylis Circle on the third level is also a good option to secure potential bargains or lastminute tickets for those on a budget.

Where Is The Best Place In The Theatre To Book Good Value Tickets At The Old Vic?

The two last rows at the very back of the stalls are officially classed as having a 'restricted view' when in fact they offer a pretty good view of the stage and offer good value for money, and while these rows are admittedly quite far from the stage there is very good legroom as a bonus! The other section of the theatre that offers good value for tickets at the Old Vic is in the 'Lilian Baylis' circle where there are consistently bargains to be found.

What Part Of The Theatre Is Best If I Want To Book Premium Tickets To The Constituent At The Old Vic?

Seats located centrally at the front of the stalls section from rows E through to L probably have the best overall view of the stage along with rows A up to D in the dress circle. All tickets at the Old Vic in these sections will be priced at a premium but if it is a completely unobstructed view of the stage that you are after and finance is not a consideration then this is probably where you want to be.

Why Is There A Booking Fee Added To The Price Of My Tickets At The Old Vic?

As productions at the venue tend to be short and strictly limited seasons that often feature big-name actors it is unusual to find any official discount tickets at the Old Vic. Producers of shows naturally want to maximise the profit for each production and if they feel that they can get away with selling all seats at face value then it is not in their interest to offer any reduction in the price to agencies, which is why you will find that tickets bought online through third party websites for this venue often have a booking fee added to the price. Booking tickets directly from the box office at the theatre can be beneficial for productions at the Old Vic as they should be sold at face value only.
