The Baker's Wife Tickets - Menier Chocolate Factory

The arrival of a new Baker and his young wife turns the people of a provincial French village upside down in this cult classic musical from legendary composer Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Godspell, Pippin) and Joseph Stein.

Based on Jean Giono and Marcel Pagnol's movie La Femme du Boulanger, THE BAKER’S WIFE is packed with some of Schwartz’s most beautiful songs that immerse audiences into a world of Gallic charm.

Lucie Jones (Wicked, Waitress) and Clive Rowe (Sister Act) take the starring roles at the Menier Chocolate Factory as Genevieve the Baker’s Wife and Aimable the Baker. They are joined by Mark Extance, Joaquin Pedro Valdes, Hana Ichijo, Josefina Gabrielle, Michael Matus, David Seadon-Young, Matthew Seadon-Young, Jack Gardner, Bobbie Chambers, and Robyn Rose.

Gordon Greenberg directs the production with choreography by Matt Cole and designs by Paul Farnsworth in a strictly limited 10-week season from 6th July.

The Menier Chocolate Factory is a small and intimate off West End venue located about a five minute walk from London Bridge Station in Southwark Street that has one level of seating with a capacity of 180 seats.

The bench seating within the venue can feel a little cramped when the auditorium is full to capacity but does however benefit from a good raking which offers a very good view of the stage. The ‘stage’ itself is on floor level and relatively small which offers an intimate and immersive theatrical experience. There is very little difference in the pricing of seats in the venue due to it being on a single level and its small size, however the centre section seats are usually priced slightly dearer.

The Menier Chocolate Factory also has several rehearsal rooms and a cosy restaurant and welcoming bar which is surrounded with posters from previous shows and surprisingly affordable, making it an ideal venue for a date night.
