STARS An Afrofuturist Space Odyssey Tickets - London
Winner of the 2024 ‘Best New Play’ at the Offies, STARS: An Afrofuturist Space Odyssey is a funny and moving new play at Brixton House celebrating Black Queer arousal and empowerment.
Meet Mrs: an old lady who travels into outer space… in a quest to find her own orgasm. Performed alongside projected animations by one woman and a live DJ, we travel through outer space with a woman to search for her lost orgasm, with a dusting of African mythology and folklore in an unabashedly intersex, Queer, and feminist rallying play. Featuring music by Jamila Woods, Sun Ra, Floating Points, and others.
STARS: An Afrofuturist Space Odyssey is a sensitive, joyful, and critically acclaimed show about touch, desire, and reclaiming your pleasure. Join us late at night as the theatre space transforms into a celebratory club night on selected performances after the show, featuring DJs and accessible for all (18+).
Described as a “concept album on stage”, the expansive and experimental STARS is written by internationally acclaimed artist, theatremaker, and Alfred Fagon award-winner, Mojisola Adebayo.
