The multi-award-winning new musical Standing at the Sky’s Edge – transfers to the West End at the Gillian Lynne Theatre following sold-out seasons at the National Theatre and Sheffield Theatres.
Standing at the Sky’s Edge has been hailed as ‘the most exciting new British musical in years’ (WhatsOnStage) and charts the hopes and dreams of three generations during six turbulent decades, navigating their way through the universal themes of love, loss, and survival.
The production has been described as a love letter to Sheffield and is directed by Robert Hastie, with the irresistible songs of legendary singer-songwriter Richard Hawley and a hilarious, gut-wrenching book by Chris Bush. Standing at the Sky’s Edge pulls back the historical layers of modern Britain through the stories of residents of the landmark housing estate – a heartfelt exploration of the real power of local community and the places we all call home.
