Showmanism Tickets - Hampstead Theatre

Showmanism Tickets - London

Following the 2023 triumph of Re-Member Me, Dickie Beau now returns to London at the Hampstead Theatre with the critically acclaimed Showmanism for a strictly limited season.

Having premiered in 2022 at Theatre Royal Bath, Showmanism is a kaleidoscopic journey through the history of theatre as seen through the forensic lens of Dickie Beau’s unique lip-sync and celebrated mix-tape medium.

Spend an evening in the company of legends of stage and screen - Peter Sellars, Ian McKellen, Fiona Shaw, and many more - as you've never seen, or heard, them before. Dickie channels a wide and compelling collection of voices that traces a path through the many permutations of the world of performance, from nightclub drag queens to Greek Thetare, from puppetry to politics.

Showmanism is an audiovisual love letter to performance that speaks to us about the world, about art, and, above all, about being human.

Dickie Beau was recently seen as Oscar Wilde in Blanche McIntyre's celebrated production of Tom Stoppard's The Invention of Love, and Sandro Botticelli in Jordan Tannahill's Botticelli in the Fire.

'The art of acting brilliantly dissected… This is a show with as much substance as style' The Times

'I’ve never seen – or perhaps heard is the more appropriate verb here – anything like this show' The Telegraph.

'Beau is one of our great living artists … A work of genius’ WhatsOnStage.

‘An astonishment' The Guardian

Showmanism plays at the Hampstead Theatre in London. The theatre is home to new writing and has hosted many ground-breaking productions, before their transfer to the West End. The intimate and cosy theatre has a capacity of 325

The venue opened back in 1959 as a Scout Hall which has been converted into the purpose-built Hampstead Theatre featuring two performance spaces.

The venue attracts some of the world’s greatest acting talent including Jude Law, Tamsin Greig, John Malkovich, and Felicity Kendal, who have all appeared there.

The Hampstead Theatre is a modern venue with good facilities, decent viewing angles, and good sound. Some Dress Circle seats are a little cramped and lacking in legroom, and width. Some seats in this section feature slight restrictions due to support pillars, so studying the seating plan before booking is recommended.

This production is recommended for patrons aged 14+
