Partenope Tickets - London
Complicated simply doesn’t cover it when it comes to the love life of Partenope. All isn’t fair in love and war in Handel’s first operatic rom-com which will play a limited season at the London Coliseum from November 20th - December 6th.
Finding 'the one' is never easy. Especially, if you happen to be tangled up in a messy love quadrangle. Come and join social butterfly Partenope and Armindo, Arsace, and Eurimene – her three potential suitors - in a simple story of boys meeting girl, who then falls for boy, but another ‘boy’ is actually a girl who is searching for revenge on another boy… are you keeping up?
Is love on the cards? Will honesty win in the end? In this particularly complex game of romance, not everything - or indeed, everyone - is as it seems.
Featuring bottomless cocktails, endless card games, non-stop parties, and some questionable disguises, our scene is set for romance and perfectly complemented by Handel’s captivating score. The emotions of each character are beautifully brought to life in this fun, classy, and utterly charming battle for Partenope’s heart. Set in a Paris salon during the 1920s, Christopher Alden’s production takes inspiration from surrealist artists of the time, including Man Ray, and Salvador Dali.
Partenope returns to the London Coliseum for its second revival. The production won an Olivier Award for Best New Opera Production in 2008 and has since been showcased all over the world.
