Our Cosmic Dust Tickets - Park Theatre

Shotaro is a curious schoolboy who embarks on an adventure to find his late father through the stars. His mother, follows behind, sick with worry and determined to bring him safely home. They encounter a kaleidoscope of characters along their journeys, each with their own tales of love, loss, and life's absurdities. Moments of humour and wonder remind us amid the poignancy that even in grief, there’s still plenty of room for joy and laughter.

Our Cosmic Dust is an imaginative and heartfelt tale at the Park Theatre that explores how we find solace in the cosmos and guidance in others – from the wide-eyed perspective of a young child.

This three-time award-winning production makes its English-language debut blending hand-drawn illustrations, intricate puppetry, and inventive video design to create a delightfully unexpected and visually stunning theatrical experience. Our Cosmic Dust was created by Tokyo writer and director Michinari Ozawa and is now translated by British-Japanese theatre maker Susan Momoko Hingley, providing an uplifting and touching exploration of the human spirit.

The stalls section in Park200 sits on the lower ground level and has head-on views of the stage, with the circle level on the upper ground slightly above the stage that offers elevated views of the action.

The theatre is usually laid out in a thrust configuration with the stage sticking out towards the seating area. For some productions, there may be some extra seating to create an ‘in-the-round’ configuration.

The theatre has a capacity of up to 200 people with the stalls containing banks of bench seating with the left and right sections by the stage featuring 3 benches of 9-13 seats. The central block consists of 5 rows of 10-20 seats with the rows of benches raked to offer clear views of the stage so the back row of each seating bank sits on the same level as the entrance. The benches towards the back of the stalls are slightly longer, and in the front row, the stage sits directly in front of you at knee level.

This production is recommended for patrons aged 12+
