'‘It’s our society’s way of dealing with someone different’'

Inside a psychiatric facility, Chief Bromden has not uttered a word for years — both confined and maligned by a system that divides, labels, and forgets. But he has a story to tell. He has simply been waiting patiently - and quietly - for someone to listen to it.

Enter Randle P. McMurphy, a provocateur and gambler, whose fierce defiance begins to unsettle the ward — and sparks a long dormant flame in Bromden and his fellow patients. They have been stripped of their humanity under the iron rule of Nurse Ratched. Now, thanks to McMurphy’s rebellion, they have once again found their voices — and memories of what it means to be free.

Clint Dyer manages to reignite the rebellious spirit of the original novel at The Old Vic as he directs a bold new staging of Ken Kesey’s countercultural masterpiece, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, starring Giles Terera and Aaron Pierre. In a searing exploration of the social structures deliberately built to silence dissent, this production invites its audience to experience the powerful story in a new light.

This production is supported by The Huo Family Foundation and The Public Fund, with Bird & Bird as the proud Production Sponsor.  Book One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest Tickets on Theatre Tickets London.

One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest plays at the Old Vic.  The medium-sized venue is located on The Cut, close to Waterloo Stationand has three levels of seating with a capacity of 1364.

The auditorium is built in a semi-circle and offers a variety of views of the stage, which can be extended to accommodate the production. Different price bands are available within the venue.

Premium seats and the best overall views of the stage are found in the centre of rows E-L in the Stalls, and in rows A-D of the Dress Circle.

Good value for tickets can be found in the back two “restricted view” rows of the Stalls, which offer a relatively clear view of the stage. While these seats are a little distant from the stage, they do benefit from having plenty of legroom! Alternatively, the Lilian Baylis Circle on the third level also provides a good option for potential bargains and last-minute tickets.

This production is suitable for patrons aged 14+.
