Lionel Bart’s iconic and much-loved musical, Oliver! returns to the London stage at the Gielgud Theatre this December in a new Cameron Mackintosh production that has been fully reconceived with director and choreographer Matthew Bourne following its sold-out season at Chichester Festival Theatre.
Simon Lipkin will star in the production as Fagin and is joined by Shanay Holmes as Nancy, Aaron Sidwell as Bill Sikes, Billy Jenkins as the Artful Dodger, and Philip Franks as Mr Brownlow.
Featuring an iconic and sensational score including 'Consider Yourself', 'I’d Do Anything', 'You’ve Got to Pick-a-Pocket or Two', 'Oom Pah Pah', 'Food Glorious Food', 'As Long As He Needs Me', and many more, the Tony, Olivier, and Oscar-winning masterpiece Dickens’ ever-popular story of the orphan boy who asked for more vividly to life.
Oliver! is revised and produced by Cameron Mackintosh, with choreography and direction from Matthew Bourne, and co-direction by Jean-Pierre van der Spuy. The talented creative team behind the production features design by Lez Brotherston, music supervision by Graham Hurman, lighting design by Ben Jacobs and Paule Constable, sound design by Adam Fisher, video design by George Reeve, original orchestrations by William David Brohn have been adapted by Stephen Metcalfe.
