Look Back In Anger Tickets - Almeida Theatre

Jimmy Porter is becoming increasingly frustrated by his post-war life running a local stall. Deeply embittered by the constant disapproval of his wife Alison’s wealthy family and a world that seems to shut him out, he spirals into frequent fits of rage.

Their uneasy marriage descends even further into freefall, when Alison’s friend unexpectedly turns up one night at their home, with their friends left desperately trying to keep the peace.

Former Almeida Resident Director Atri Banerjee directs Billy Howle and Ellora Torchia in a new production of Look Back In Anger.

John Osborne’s furious and ground-breaking play, alongside Arnold Wesker’s Roots, changed British theatre forever and now the mirror they held up to society in the 1950s has been angled towards 2024, with the two plays running for 11 weeks alongside each other in repertory as part of the Angry and Young season at the Almeida Theatre.

The Almeida Theatre is a small off-West End venue situated in Almeida Street close to both Highbury & Islington and Angel tube stations and has a capacity of 350 seats.

There are pillars and side-angle seats located throughout the auditorium however, seats affected by these can usually be purchased at a lower price. Seating within the theatre benefits from good legroom throughout.

The best seats in the theatre can be found in the centre sections of both the Stalls and the Circle.

For patrons that don’t mind leaning a little, then using the seats with slight restrictions due to pillars or side-angled can provide great value for money. Depending on the show, the restricted view seats in the Stalls are generally slightly better than those located in the Circle. Other options that provide value for money include sitting towards the back of either section which offers overall clear views of the stage at a discounted price!

This production of Look Back In Ager at the Almeida Theatre includes scenes of domestic abuse, racist & misogynistic language, and mentions of miscarriage and includes flashing lights and the smoking of herbal tobacco.

2 hours 45 minutes. Including 1 interval.

This production is recommended for patrons aged 14+
