Just For One Day Tickets - Shaftesbury Theatre

Just For One Day Tickets - London

On July 13th, 1985, the world united through music.

After the World Premiere production of Just For One Day - The Live Aid Musical “blew the roof off the Old Vic” (Baz Bamigboye) in 2024, it became the fastest-selling musical ever at the Old Vic. The story of Live Aid is now told in a whole new way and is lighting up the West End at the Shaftesbury Theatre.

This exhilarating musical “rocks in all the right ways” (WhatsOnStage), featuring hit songs by David Bowie, Bob Dylan, The Police, The Who, U2, Queen, Madonna, Diana Ross, Elton John, Paul McCartney, and more of the iconic musical artists who made history performing at simultaneous charitable gigs in London and Philadelphia.

Live Aid was the unprecedented music event that brought 1.5 billion people together, and they all have their own story to tell about ‘the day rock ‘n’ roll changed the world’. Whether you saw the event live, watched it on TV, or weren’t even born when it happened, you won’t want to miss this “remarkable” (Daily Mail) and “rip-roaring” (The Telegraph) new musical by John O’Farrell and directed by Luke Sheppard.

A donation of 10% from the sale of all tickets will directly go to The Band Aid Charitable Trust.

Just For One Day plays at the Shaftesbury Theatre in London. The medium-sized West End theatre has three levels of seating and a capacity of 1408.

The front section of the Stalls is split by a corridor through the middle, with two aisles separating the rear Stalls into a further three. Both the Royal and Grand Circles feature some seats with minor restrictions, causing the back of the stage to be slightly obscured, so studying the seating plan before purchase is recommended.

Premium seats are in the middle of rows D-H in the centre of the Stalls, offering the best overall experience. The centre of rows A-D of the Royal Circle also has great views for patrons who prefer to view the action from an elevated position.

There is last-minute value in the price to be found in sections of the rear of the Royal Circle, which, despite being a fair distance from the stage, still offer a clear view. Bargain hunters looking for cheap Just For One Day tickets can find value in the clear-view seats 14-24 in the Grand Circle on the third level, which are often reduced but may not suit people suffering from vertigo.

2 hours 35 minutes. Including 1 interval.

This production is recommended for patrons aged12+. Parental guidance is recommended.

Can I Book Discount Tickets For Just For One Day?

During the quiet months of November, January, and February, and off-peak weeks following half-term and school holidays, there is usually a downward movement in West End prices, and discount tickets to Just For One Day may become available. It is always advisable to check the website regularly (and the seating plan) for online promotions and discount tickets. There are very few seats with restricted views in the Shaftesbury Theatre, so there is often good value.

Should I Avoid Upper Circle Tickets To Just For One Day?

Seats in the upper circle at the Shaftesbury Theatre have several price bands with very little restricted-view seating. As these seats are situated on the second floor, during quiet periods, and for midweek performances, there can often be better value in the rear of the stalls. When booking for peak periods (or at weekends), studying the seating plan and looking for value can yield savings in the upper circle, so they should not be dismissed without inspection.

Where Is The Best Section Of The Theatre To Book Tickets?

This will depend on your budget. There are three tiers of seating and different pricing bands in the Shaftesbury Theatre, with the most expensive, unsurprisingly, being at the front and centre of both the stalls and dress circle. There are four separate price bands in the stalls, but very few seats with restricted views, so good value is available for midweek and off-peak performances. There are also different price bands in the dress circle and upper circle. These offer good choices and clear views of the stage that should suit most budgets.

Why Is There A Booking Fee Added To My Tickets?

If you are booking Just For One Day tickets online through a third-party website during busy periods (such as school holidays and weekends), there will likely be a booking fee attached, as producers will be looking to secure as much revenue as possible, and will therefore charge agents the full face value. This means that online ticket agents must charge a booking fee to make a profit. During quieter periods, however, producers can often sell tickets to agents at a discounted rate, enabling them to sell at a discount to the consumer.
