Hamilton Tickets - Victoria Palace Theatre

Hamilton Tickets - London

The record-breaking run goes on in the West End at the Victoria Palace Theatre as the multi-award-winning production of HAMILTON continues to go from strength to strength.

HAMILTON charts the story of Alexander Hamilton, an immigrant from the West Indies and one of America’s Founding Fathers who rose to become George Washington’s right-hand man during the American Revolutionary War and helped forge the foundations of what was to become the U.S.A. that we know today. The upbeat and contemporary musical score fuses the genres of hip-hop, rap, jazz, blues, R&B, and Broadway – to tell the story of America then and America now.

Lin-Manuel Miranda's phenomenal and multi-award-winning hit musical Hamilton first opened at the venue to incredible critical acclaim in 2017 following a pretty much unprecedented sold-out run on Broadway. The show takes musical theatre to a whole new level with its fusion of Latin American, R&B, and Hip Hop music styles creating what has now become an epic historical musical production.

Is It Easy To Find Tickets To Hamilton?

When it first opened, and for the next two and a half years, Hamilton tickets were in such demand that the producers did not need official ticket agents to sell the show. Although things have calmed down a little, this is still pretty much the hottest show in the world right now, and demand for tickets in all price ranges and categories is unprecedented, but sold through normal channels both online and through retail outlets.

How Can I Book Cheap Tickets To Hamilton?

Although demand to see Hamilton is still huge, there are avenues available to keep the price reasonable, and if you are flexible with dates, it is possible to keep prices down. To book cheap Hamilton tickets there is an official lottery offering successful applicants tickets for as little as £10! If you would rather not leave things to chance, and be secure in your purchase, then seats in the upper circle can be very reasonably priced, have few restrictions to the view, and can be considered good value despite their second-floor location.

When Is The Best Time To Book Tickets To Hamilton?

Like with most West End productions, seasonal fluctuations can be found in the price of Hamilton tickets. When searching for value, it is advisable to explore midweek performances, avoiding peak times such as school holidays. November, January, and February are of particular interest, along with weeks following half-term holidays that are traditionally quiet in the West End.

Where Is The Best Place In The Theatre To Book Hamilton Tickets?

This depends on several different factors. Premium tickets to Hamilton are in the centre of the stalls and the dress circle. The upper circle offers good value to those on a budget and has several price ranges, so savings may be found if you book in advance. It is advisable to check the seating plan before booking, as multiple price options are available throughout the theatre, and the cut-off points for the different price bands provide an opportunity to save money.

Who Was Alexander Hamilton?

Alexander Hamilton was a founding father of the United States of America and was known as George Washington's right-hand man during the American Revolutionary War. Following the American Colony's independence from the British Empire, he became the first Secretary of the United States Treasury.

Is The Story Of Hamilton Historically Correct?

For the most part, however, some theatrical and creative license has been used. The show's creator, Lin-Manuel Miranda, employed Ron Chernow, author of Alexander Hamilton's biography, to consult on the project to ensure they didn't stray too far from the facts.

If All Of America's Founding Fathers Were White, Why Are The Main Characters In The Show People Of Colour

Lin-Manuel Miranda's idea was to tell the story of America 'then,' with a cast formed by America 'now,' eliminating the distance between the two. The show is designed to make a statement - without actually making a statement - by showing how the country looks today by using the best personnel to embody all parts of the show.

Has Hamilton Won Any Awards?

Yes. By the shed load! In 2016 Hamilton was nominated for no fewer than 16 Tony Awards, winning 11 of them, and followed that success with a Grammy for Best Musical Theater Album and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama the same year. Awards have continued to flow in for the show as new productions have opened, including 7 Olivier Awards in the UK.

Why Is Hamilton So Popular?

Lin-Manuel Miranda seems to have found a perfect blend by fusing the past with the present day. The use of Hip Hop, Jazz, R&B, and Rap music to portray events 250 years ago has captured the imagination of theatregoers all around the world, as the story still holds enormous significance. Ultimately, Hamilton is based on the 'American Dream,' immigration, and division within modern society, which resonate with modern-day audiences.

Is There A Dress Code To Watch Hamilton?

No. Like most shows in the West End patrons are advised to dress appropriately for their own comfort.

The Victoria Palace Theatre is a large West End theatre with three levels of seating and a capacity of 1547. The theatre is built in a traditional style, with a large auditorium that somewhat overwhelms the relatively small stage. Each level of seating is well-raked and curves around the balconies, offering different views of the stage. Ticket prices vary accordingly, so studying the seating plan before booking is recommended.

Premium seats are situated in the centre of the stalls and the front of the dress circle.

For patrons searching for bargains and last-minute theatre tickets, the steep rake results in some seats marked as 'restricted view' in the stalls offer great value for money, as these restrictions can be minimal, and the view from these seats should not severely impact your enjoyment of the production.
