Frank is a soon-to-be groom who has a closet full of frocks. As he and his beloved partner Alan prepare to marry, it’s time to make some space in the wardrobe and donate his fabulous and iconic diva dress collection to the V&A. If only he could bear to part with them…
Through a magical portal that exists in his closet door, Frank enters into a world of fantasy where he is The Chairman of The Music Hall. Frank is visited, in turn by each diva, delivering a song (what else?) containing some good - or at least well-intentioned - advice. Throw in a quartet of superb dancing Gaiety Girls and some glorious songs that straddle the songbooks of Britain, Broadway (and Sweden) – and you have Frank’s Closet. But will it be the fiancé or the frocks ultimately triumph?
After achieving cult status during its recent sell-out season at The Union Theatre, Frank’s Closet returns to its London roots at Wilton’s Music Hall.
A warm-hearted, and joyous celebration of camp that will chime with anyone who’s ever felt torn between responsibility, fantasy, and just being yourself.
