In the tiny village of Anatevka in 1905, Tevye, a Jewish milkman, lives life by honouring the proud and age-old traditions of his people. This means a visit from the matchmaker for his five daughters to find a suitable husband. Against a backdrop of a rapidly changing world, each daughter begins to challenge his beliefs. Can Tevye hold on to his roots, or will he be forced to bend to their will and embrace the unfamiliar?
