Far Gone Tickets - London
Far Gone is a powerful one-man performance at Brixton House that traces a young boy’s journey from youthful innocence to survival in a story that transcends all borders — poetic, raw, and above all, deeply human.
“If I invited you to come with me on a journey, a story, will you come with me?”
After Okumu’s village in Northern Uganda is attacked by the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA), both Okumu's and his brother’s lives change forever.
Far Gone charts the path of a young boy from the innocence of childhood to that of a boy soldier. Okumu’s experience is told using a blend of poetry, humour, and startling physical theatre that strikes straight at the heart in a deeply moving one-man performance written by John Rwothomack and directed by Mojisola Kareem.
Far Gone was originally co-produced with Sheffield Theatres and inspired by Rwothomack’s own near experiences of abduction by the LRA, and explores how conflicts reshape identity, family, and belonging - and how to keep hold of humanity in the face of extreme violence.
