English Tickets - Kiln Theatre

Four adult students grapple with learning English as a foreign language in a classroom in Iran. As they try to perfect their pronunciation, accents, and vocabulary, they start to realise that there is far more to their lives than can ever be uttered through mere language.

‘We are native speakers in this room. We laugh in English. We think in English. Our inhales, our exhales – we fill our lungs in English.’

Sanaz Toossi's English won the 2023 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and is a deeply moving and comic play directed by Diyan Zora and now transfers to the Kiln Theatre in London from its European premiere at RSC's The Other Place Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon.

The Kiln Theatre (formally the Tricycle Theatre) is a small and intimate off-West End theatre located on lively Kilburn High Road. The venue has seating on two levels with the Stalls section just getting the nod for comfort. The layout of the seating in the auditorium is subject to change to suit each production in the venue.

The newly spruced-up theatre features an attractive all-day café-bar at the front, with a pavement terrace and doors wide open onto the street. The theatre itself benefits from intimate stage settings, comfortable seating, and friendly welcoming staff.
