Original Cast Of 'Hadestown' Set For West End Run

Latest West End News

Members of the original Broadway and National Theatre cast of Hadestown will reprise their roles for a limited West End run at the Lyric Theatre from 11th February to 9th March 2025.

The production will feature Reeve Carney as Orpheus, André De Shields as Hermes, Amber Gray as Persephone, Eva Noblezada as Eurydice, and Patrick Page as Hades with further casting for performances from 11th February 2025 yet to be announced.

Hadestown opened in February this year at the Lyric Theatre in the West End following a successful run at the National Theatre in 2018 and a Broadway opening in 2019.

Grammy and Tony-winning singer-songwriter Anaïs Mitchell uses a blend of blues, pop, indie folk, and New Orleans-inspired jazz in a musical about the ancient Greek myth of Eurydice and Orpheus, set against a backdrop of the Depression era. Rachel Chavkin directs the production.

Producer Mara Issacs commented, saying: "It is nothing short of divine magic to be able to welcome Reeve, Andre, Amber, Eva, and Patrick back to London. This transatlantic collaboration, which began with the National Theatre production in 2018, is baked into Hadestown's DNA. We couldn't be more thrilled to bring them 'home' as Hadestown continues its love affair with the West End."

The rest of the wider Hadestown creative team behind the production features Bradley King (lighting design), Michael Krass (costume design), David Neumann (choreography), Rachel Hauck (scenic design), Jessica Paz and Nevin Steinberg (sound design), Liam Robinson (music supervision and vocal arrangements), Tarek Merchant (musical director), Michael Chorney and Todd Sickafoose (arrangements and orchestrations), and Ken Cerniglia (dramaturgy).
