Latest West End News

Rebecca Lucy Taylor and Jake Shears will bid the West End 'Wilkommen' as they join the cast of Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club on 25th September.

Shears is the lead singer of the Grammy Award-nominated band Scissor Sisters, and now takes over the coveted role of the Emcee from Mason Alexander Park in the show. Shears has previous stage credits for playing Charlie Price in Kinky Boots and also wrote music for the musical Tammy Faye alongside Sir Elton John.

Taylor will make her stage debut with Cabaret and is best known for her pop music career under the stage name Self Esteem and will take over the role of Sally Bowles from Maude Apatow.

Other new members of the cast of Cabaret joining the company on 25th September include Hicaro Nicolai as Lulu, Wilf Scolding as Ernst Ludwig, Travis Ross as Bobby, Jessica Kirton as Fraulein Kost/Fritzie, Liv Alexander as Texas, Taite-Elliot Drew as Hans, Damon Gould as Victor, Natalie Chua as Frenchie, El Haq Latief as Helga, Laura Delany as Rosie, and Grant Neal as Herman/Max.

The current cast of Cabaret also includes continuing members Beverley Klein as Fraulein Schneider, Teddy Kempner as Herr Schultz, Nathan Ives-Moiba as Clifford Bradshaw, and Emily Benjamin as the Sally Bowles alternate.

The cast is completed by Ela Lisondra, Rebecca Lisewski, Nic Myers (who becomes the alternate Sally Bowles from 19th October), Patrick Wilden, Andy Rees, and Toby Turpin.

The classic musical by Kander and Ebb charts the romance between writer Clifford and nightclub singer Sally amid the rise of the Weimar Republic. Rebecca Frecknall directs the Olivier Award-Winning production that transforms the Playhouse Theatre into the Kit Kat Club.

Booking & Ticket Information For Cabaret

The Kit Kat Club (Playhouse Theatre) is a medium size West End venue which has been adapted and transformed to accommodate the resident production of Cabaret. The seats in the Stalls section of the theatre provide the best view of the stage, with no restrictions even at the very rear however, try to sit centrally if possible, as the gradual rake in the seating means that views may be blocked by members of the audience if seated at the rear. The first three rows of the Dress Circle also offer very good views of the stage.

The front rows of the Dress Circle are often discounted due to the curve of the seating and are good value for money for those on a budget and looking to secure cheap Cabaret tickets, and although there is limited legroom in these seats they offer good value with row E of the Dress Circle regularly discounted and generally offering good views. Avoid the Upper Circle if possible as quite severe restrictions can affect the view of the stage from this section.
