The new cast of West End favourite Hadestown has been revealed. The new personnel will take over at the Lyric Theatre from 11 March.
Olivier Award nominee Victoria Hamilton-Barritt will star as Persephone with Chris Jarman as Hades, Desmonda Cathabel as Eurydice, Olivier Award nominee Cedric Neal as Hermes, and Dylan Wood returning as Orpheus after making his West End debut last year in the production.
Lauran Rae and Melanie Bright join Allie Daniel as the Femi and Fates Akinfolarin, Laura Delany, Michelle Andrews, Ollie Bingham, and Sebastian Lim-Seet will play the Workers. Juan Jackson, Oisín Nolan-Power, Lindo Shinda, Lucinda Buckley, and Jasmine Triadi will be Swings.
Hadestown opened in the West End in February 2024 at the Lyric Theatre, five years after its 2018 sold-out run at the National Theatre. The musical is now booking until 28 September in the West End.
The production fuses pop, indie blues, folk, and New Orleans-inspired jazz with Greek myth, telling the story of two pairs of lovers: young dreamers, King Hades and his wife Persephone, and Orpheus and Eurydice.
Hadestown has a book, music, and lyrics, from acclaimed Tony and Grammy Award winner Anaïs Mitchell and Tony Award winner Rachel Chavkin directs. The wider creative team behind the production features Rachel Hauck (Scenic Design), David Neumann (Choreography), Bradley King (Lighting Design), Nevin Steinberg and Jessica Paz (Sound Design), Michael Krass (Costume Design), Liam Robinson (Music Supervision and Vocal Arrangements), Maria Crocker (UK Associate Director), Ken Cerniglia (Dramaturgy), Michael Chorney and Todd Sickafoose (Arrangements and Orchestrations), and Tarek Merchant (Associate Music Supervisor & Musical Director).

The Lyric Theatre is a medium size West End theatre located at the bottom of Shaftesbury Avenue in the heart of London's theatreland and has four levels with a capacity of 1061 seats.
Due to support pillars situated throughout the venue, there are restricted views in certain areas of the auditorium which can result in major viewing obstructions. The rows all curve into a horseshoe shape, which causes the seats at the very end of the rows to suffer from side-angle views of the stage.
Premium seats in the theatre are located in rows F-J in the centre of the Stalls which have the best view overall view of the stage along with seats in the front and centre of the Dress Circle which will suit patrons who prefer to view the stage from an elevated position. Due to the number of pillars and also the shape of the auditorium in the Lyric Theatre, several restricted view seats are regularly sold at a lower cost to suit patrons on a budget or lastminute bargain hunters searching for cheap Hadestown tickets. Studying the seating plan to exploit the cut-off points within the pricing structure can also bring dividends as the seats all around the premium seats in the Stalls can offer similar views in lower price bands.
Private boxes are also available in the Lyric Theatre which is primarily located down the sides of the Dress Circle which has between two and three seats and contains freestanding chairs allowing patrons to maximize both their view and comfort and are usually priced comparably to seats in the Grand Circle.
