David Albury will take over the iconic role of Bob Marley from Michael Duke. Albury's previous stage credits include starring in Motown the Musical and starring as 'Simba' in Disney's The Lion King. Cleopatra Rey will take on the role of Rita Marley in the show.
The full cast will now feature Rohan Pinnock-Hamilton as Peter Tosh, Shanay Holmes as Cindy Breakspeare, Jacade Simpson as Bunny Wailer, Sophia Mackay as Judy Mowatt, Melissa Brown-Taylor as Marcia Griffiths, and Ivano Turco as the alternate Bob Marley.
The remainder of the talented cast is made up of Jaime Tait, Andrè Antonio, Craig Blake, Julene Robinson, Charles Blyth, Tom Bowen, Cartell Green-Brown, Ricardo, Summer Priest, Jack Matthew, Luke Buck, Viquichele Cross, Llewellyn Jamal, Callum Jaye, Michael Jeremiah, Philip Kamau, Athena Collins, Philip Kamau, Pharrell Marshall-Green, Newton Matthews, Kieran McGinn, Kristiano Palme, Lauran Rae, Zack Richards, Nate Simpson, and Amarra Smith.
The plot of Get Up, Stand Up! After opening at the Lyric Theatre in October 2021, Get Up, Stand Up! The Bob Marley Musical went on to win the Olivier Award for 'Best Orchestrations'. Clint Dyer directs the original story from Lee Hall and the wider creative team features sound design by Tony Gayle, design by Chloe Lamford, choreography by Shelley Maxwell, costume design by Lisa Duncan, and lighting design by Charles Balfour.
