Clueless The Musical To Close Early In London
West End musical Clueless has set a new closing date in London at the Trafalgar Theatre.
The production is based on Jane Austen’s classic novel Emma, and adapted from the hit 1995 Hollywood movie starring Alicia Silverstone. Clueless follows the fortunes of Cher Horowitz, the most popular student at Beverley Hills High, who excels in putting relationships together and generally meddling with the lives of her classmates.
The musical features a book by Amy Heckerling, and a score by the multi-platinum singer-songwriter KT Tunstall, with lyrics from Grammy Award winner Glenn Slater, and direction by Rachel Kavanaugh and choreography by Lizzi Gee.
The role of Cher in the production is taken by Emma Flynn, with Keelan McAuley starring as Josh. They are joined by Chyna-Rose Frederick as Dionne, Rabi Kondé as Murray, Romona Lewis-Malley as Tai, and Isaac J Lewis as Christian.
The role of Travis is played by Blake Jordan, Mel / Mr Hall / Driving Instructor by Ryan O’Donnell, Amber by Emily Florence, Elton by Max Mirza, and Miss G / Ms S / Lucy / Heather by Imelda Warren-Green.
The complete ensemble is made up of Jacob Fisher, Sophie Elmes, James Lim, Aoife Kenny, Grace Eleanor Thomas, Josh Latunji, and Ernest Stroud. The swings are Lucy Rice, Dylan Gordon-Jones, Lucas Lluna, and Rachel Seirian.
The creative team behind Clueless features music supervision and arrangements by Carmel Dean, costumes by Tony Award winner Paloma Young, scenic design by Mikiko Suzuki MacAdams, orchestrations by Simon Hale, sound by Sam Clarkson and Rob Bettle for Sound Quiet Time, lighting by Ben Cracknell, hair, wigs, and make-up design by Sam Cox, and casting by Olivia Laydon for Jill Green Casting.
Clueless will now cut short its booking period and finish its West End run on 23 August 2025. All ticket holders beyond August will be contacted.
A UK tour of the show is expected to follow.
