Paddington The Musical In London Issues Casting Call For Two Supporting Roles

A casting call has been announced by the producers of the much-anticipated production of Paddington The Musical for two key supporting roles.

After being first teased back in 2023, the musical will receive its world premiere in London this autumn at the Savoy Theatre, with performances beginning on 1 November.

Paddington the Musical has been adapted from Michael Bond's much-loved children's books and subsequent Hollywood movies and will feature music and lyrics by Tom Fletcher, a book by Jessica Swale, and direction by Luke Sheppard.

The story will follow the fortunes of the iconic bear after he arrives in London from Peru in search of a place to call home. The new production will feature original characters alongside familiar favourites.

The new casting call is searching for two key roles in the show – boys aged 10 to 12 years to play the part of youngest son, Jonathan Brown, in the central Brown family, along with a male performer aged 15 to 20 to take the role of “Tony”, who is Judy’s supposed love interest in the show.

Those applying for the role of Jonathan will need to emphasise strong diction during “fast and wordy” sections of the show, along with movement experience.
